They destroy all the Elemental Crows leaving their empire vulnerable.

The story starts with Princess Anthia of Rodhaire and her best friend having a good time enjoying their city’s annual festival, but everything falls apart when they’re suddenly invaded by the powerful Illucian Empire. The world building and magic was pretty good though. I would’ve given it a three stars if it wasn’t a debut novel. Another thing that I was bummed about is nothing major happens until you get to the last part. There’s a super insta-love in the second half which I’m really not fan of. The characters were good but not that great either. Except for the crows magic element, it was a typical YA fantasy read.

I enjoyed the story but It didn’t completely meet my expectations. The Storm Crow is one of the debut books that I’ve been looking forward to this year and It turns out to be a mixed bag for me. And after stumbling upon a hidden Crow egg in the rubble of a rookery, she and her sister devise a dangerous plan to hatch the egg in secret and get back what was taken from them. Her sister Caliza is busy running the kingdom after their mother’s death, but all Thia can do is think of all she has lost.īut when Caliza is forced to agree to a marriage between Thia and the crown prince of Illucia, Thia is finally spurred into action. That terrible night has thrown Princess Anthia into a deep depression. In the tropical kingdom of Rhodaire, magical, elemental Crows are part of every aspect of life…until the Illucian empire invades, destroying everything. GENRE: Young- Adult, Fantasy, Adventure, Romance.
